Silent Thunder is a term used to describe the inaudible call of elephants that are outside the human range of hearing. Scientists have discovered that elephants have a communication system with each other that humans are unaware of. These calls, silent to the human ear, carry for miles and can be heard by other elephant families up to 20 miles away. The researcher aptly dubbed it "Silent Thunder." Elephants live many years in family groups but may never have actually come in contact with each other. Yet, they communicate with each other over the miles warning of natural disasters, where good feeding grounds are located, and any other information that they may deem important to each other, I suppose. I found this to be fascinating - one of those little secrets of God that man finally has stumbled upon after thousands of years sharing the same planet. I have chosen Silent Thunder as the title of my journal because I am trying to communicate with other humans outside their physical hearing range. I would like to be God's Voice of Silent Thunder that calls others to the lush pastures of my Father where they may graze and be filled. I want to be used of God and to share the wonderful gift of salvation that God has given to me when the voice of His Silent Thunder called me to Him. So, for those with ears to hear, this is my gift to you. March 1999
